Delete your data
How to delete your Wrenword data
Wrenword (“Family call check”) has no accounts. Almost everything it keeps is on your own phone, and you can delete it there yourself. The only thing kept anywhere else is your phone’s registration for family alerts, and we’ll delete that when you ask.
On your phone
- One person: open them in Wrenword and tap Unpair. This deletes your words, challenge answers, duress phrases, and memory questions for that person. If you both have family alerts on, their phone deletes the pair too.
- A family group: open Family alerts and tap Leave this group. The relay removes your phone from the group straight away.
- Everything: uninstall Wrenword. Its data is never backed up, so nothing is left behind on the phone or in your Google account.
On Wrenword’s relay
If you turned on family alerts, the relay keeps your phone’s registration: a random device ID made by the app, your phone’s public key, its Firebase installation ID, the times they were created and updated, and the groups your device ID is in. It never has your name, phone number, or the contents of any alert.
To have it deleted:
- Email the contact address on Wrenword’s Google Play listing, with the subject “Delete my Wrenword data”.
- Say which phone it’s for (for example “my Pixel 8”) and roughly when you turned on family alerts. We may ask a follow-up question to find the right registration, since we hold nothing that names you.
We delete the registration and remove it from every group within 30 days, and reply when it’s done. Nothing is kept afterwards. Short-lived records the relay uses to block replayed and excessive requests hold no personal data and expire on their own within a day.
